Nino Bokan: CUT EXCUSE
__________________________________________________
Suprotstavlja dva svijeta: konceptualni i transparentni; apstraktni i figurativni.
-----------------------------------------
«Cut excuse» is a choreographic game based on two shows: «Orange cut» (OOUR) and «Ex c(a)use me!» (op.sa.co.). Two worlds are colliding: conceptual and transparent; abstract and figurative. It was created upon collecting the choreographic material from both shows, though obviously changed by another body which performed it within it's memory traces. Through this piece I intended to react, comment/condemn certain details from those two shows, put them in a «fighting ring» and wait and see what will come out of that «clash». I wanted to reimnd both the audience and the authors of those plays about the historical moment of watching/creating that show and the impression it made on them. Performances should be taken seriously. All of us should adjust our bodies and spirits as resonating boxes in which impressions keep existing. The world we in live in today brings an overload of information we just cannot process – but it doesn't have to work that way, especially not when a signed piece of work is at stake. «Cut excuse» is a response to those ellitistic concepts legible only for the chosen ones, even though it attempts to rebuild the bridge between the author and it's audience. The creator has to keep in mind that what he does is something that can and should change the world/society/audience.
